Happy Birthday, our dear 4-year-old!

She turned 4!!!!
Miss Bugs decided to have a Spider-Man themed party.
Our family joined us...

She received wonderful presents - thank you!

Blew out candles and ate cake and ice cream.

Once all of the other guests left Bugs' best friends, her cousins, stayed for a sleepover. They played with the new toys and dress up - these costumes are actually some of my old dance costumes from back in the day...great, huh!?!?

Bubba decided to join the fun...

New story books...notice the pages are all turned to the happy endings.
I love these girls!
We made a huge bed out of the couch cusions and they watched a movie.
The day after her party...here are the Spider-Man girls.

Happy birthday, dear Bugs. We love you!

Scripture Tote

I received a sewing machine for my birthday four months ago. I finally opened it this week. Here is my first little project - a scripture tote for Bug's Book of Mormon. Yeah for me! :)

Thompson Camping Trip

Here are some pictures of the kids during our camping trip.
This is how the kids looked the whole time! Dirt everywhere, but they loved it!

We took this picture for you, Grandma, by the Scottish thistle!

Kids at Adam's Wedding

Here are a few photos from Adam & Kendra's wedding - June 5, 2009. I know I don't have a picture of the bride and groom yet. I was uploading more but ran into some issues. So, here's part 1 for now...enjoy!

I hipped...

A conversation yesterday:

Dad: Show mama your pants. [Standing at the top of the stairs Bugs shows me that her pants have dirty knees and a scrape on her hand.]

Mom: Oh, what happened?

Bugs: [Came down the stairs.] I hipped like this [she starts a kind of skipping step] and slipped.

I thought this was so cute. She said "hipped" instead of "hopped," hippity-hop, hippity hop. Classic. :)

Also, a new word we heard her use yesterday: Easily. And she used it in the correct context and everything!

She says the darndest things!

By the way...who came up with that phrase? "Darndest? Anyway, my dd really does say the funniest things some times...

1. Her reply after I asked her to stop climbing on the play kitchen while her little brother was playing beneath on the floor, "I'm going to stay here forever." And she folded her arms. I have NO idea where she learned that.

2. Said yesterday morning after she spilled dry cereal on the floor. Daddy was "making" her help pick up the mess and she said between fake sobs, "I can't believe this."

3. When asked, "Why did you do that?" She always replies, "Because I'm not 'spose to do that."

4. Uses the following words correctly in a sentence: instead, actually, awful...

I know there have been others...if any of you remember them, please remind me!

She is just amazing! Here is my bugs...

Happy!

Angry!Surprised!
Silly!
Shy!
Scared!

One of God's most amazing miracles!

So much to do, so little time!

I'm going to try and post a little more. Try being the key word. I used to be pretty good with getting things done and organizing my time. But lately I've been feeling a little stretched. So stretched that I just don't want to do anything!

Other than that we're all healthy and pretty happy, I think. Let's see...what have we done lately...

We went to the state fair and Bugs got to ride a pony. Don't you just love the bandaid on her forehead? (No real need, she bonked and needed a bandaid!)

Bubba (almost 11 months) is already learning how to ride sister's big wheel. (Don't worry...DH was close by - he even sent the poor boy rolling down the drive way - he's got good balance!)

Sleep Eating

First of all, Bugs is a napper. As much as she doesn't like it, if she doesn't take one, let's just say total grump! Well, our Church is from 1-4 on Sunday, so Bugs does not get a nap. Check out the video below...let's just say she's a little tired. :)

Potty Training

Tuesday morning Bugs woke up with her last diaper on. Thus began potty training. That first day was the hardest, but she's doing great! We're so proud of her! What a big girl! And she knows it too, as she proudly lifted up her dress yesterday at Wal-Mart and showed the cashier that she was wearing "big girl panties." Which was actually a pull-up. We were at the store getting one of those fold-up potty seats to use when out and about, so I digressed to a pull-up. But from now on we have the fold-able potty seat and a change of clothes...just in case!

Swiper No Swiping

At lunch today Ella was kind of scratching the table with her fork. I asked her to stop and she replied, "You'll never find it now, Ah ha ha ha ha." It was hilarious. She even did the little laugh with an evil tone. I asked her where she heard that and she said, "Swiper!" (From Dora the Explorer)

A Grandma Like That

So today we were getting in the car after leaving the store. Bugs was in her chair and I was on the other side of the car strapping in Bubba. Bugs pointed out her window to a beautiful lady with white hair and she said,
"Look! We have a grandma like that!"

I smiled and said "Your right, we do!" How cute is that!?!? She's really into matching lately. She saw someone the other day that had the same dress as her and she says loudly, "Hey, we have that!" What a smartie.

April Pictures

Bubba loves to JuMp! He squeals and screams with delight.

Bugs loved her Elmo kite. It was a very windy day, however, the wind kept changing directions, so the kite took many nose dives. She loved it anyway!

We went swimming with Grandma (my mom) recently.
It was Bubba's first time in a pool.
He wasn't quite sure what to think.
Bugs was kind of scared until she put on her life jacket and the inner tube - she just floated around the pool the whole time.

Bubba will smile and laugh often for us...but he always has a smile and laugh for Bugs. We just love to watch them interact.

Here's our little guy. He's growing up so fast! I love it when he wakes up and I go to get him - he has the most genuine smile for me. He is my sweet chunker lunker! He's totally a solid guy and we love it!

Poor Yah Yah

Let me introduce you to Yah Yah. That is the name Bugs has given her "lovey." Bugs is almost inseparable with Yah Yah when we're home. She is the dearest thing to her.
Well, Bugs had a traumatic experience on Monday and I wanted to share. DH was changing Bubba, so Bugs and I went up to hang out in his room. I was laying on my back on the floor and Bugs was doing a "back-bend" over my belly. Well, DH had just finished with Bubba, DH picked him up and turned around to face us with Bubba facing outward. The next thing I see is a stream of spit-up coming towards us girls on the floor. I don't feel a thing, but then I hear Bugs crying. Bubba gooped her. At this point DH and I cannot hold in our laughter. Poor thing. There's some on her arm, splatters on her face, but the worst happened to Yah Yah. Yah Yah is Bugs' "lovey." It was also laying on the floor at the time and it got the brunt of it all. And that is why Bugs was crying - because Bubba spit-up on her precious Yah Yah. Needless to say we had to do an emergency wash so Yah Yah would be ready to go to bed with Bugs.

DH and I found this experience hilarious, but we felt horrible because Bugs' was traumatized! I wish I would have taken a picture of poor Yah Yah, but it was furthest from my mind as I was trying to calm the little one. I've been waiting to post this because I wanted a picture of Yah Yah, but never found time. So, here's an old picture of Bugs with her Yah Yah. It's a little dolphin with a small blanket attached.

Sesame Street

On Tuesday we went to Discovery Gateway. We all had a blast.

Driving trucks...Daddy, scared for his life. :)

Buying Groceries

Working at the Farm

The special exhibit is about the body, featuring the characters from Sesame Street. It was so cool. Bugs just loved it! Below Bugs was trying to open the door and was mad they wouldn't open. Poor girl.

We were able to go to Elmo's World!

I thought this would be a cute picture, but again, she was upset that it wasn't a real door.

Bugs and her beloved Elmo!

Okay - so this was our favorite part. This little section showed the kids how the digestive system works. As you can see the final display was, well, poo! Look closely. There's actually a log coming down the pipe. It was disgusting, but hilarious! (As you can see Bugs is more interested in the bolts of the operation.)

In any case, we had a blast and recommend it to you.
It's kind of expensive, but worth it every once in a while.
