October Update

Hay ride and Pumpkin Patch in the pouring rain! Oops!
Mid-October Snow!

The Corn Maze
(We didn't actually make it to the corn maze. There were too many other fun things and before we knew it, bed time was upon us!)

With Family!

And of course DH found a snake in a whole field of grass! Gross!

My Baby turned 1!!!!!

Bubba decided he wanted to try on a few Halloween costume items before he decided on one.

Can we say "Ralphy?" (You know, from the Christmas story!)

Me: What are you going to be for Halloween?
DD: A princess with wings and glass slippers.
Thus we give you our Fairy Princess

I don't usually dress up, but DD kept insisting, so I did. So, naturally, I found something for DH too! Oh, and if you didn't notice DS "decided" on a lion costume.

Just a little update from us. We've been busy recently. Hope all is well with you and yours. Happy holidays!

Musical Memories

Okay - I know it's way late and my boy will probably wake up at 5. Wahoo! No, not really. I was a beast today. Anyway, I digress. Back to the subject...

I was on my way home from work and a song came on the radio that blasted me back to the past. There are a few others like that. Let me list the ones on my mind now, I might not remember in them morning. It was...

  • Blister in the Sun - Alivia. My mind flashed back to Liv and I singing this song while Mike (I think) played guitar. (High School)
  • Zombie - Melissa. We were skiing at Powder and could not get this song out of our heads for the life of us! (Jr. High)
  • It's all coming back to me now - Nicole. We were hanging at her house and she was putting on a new song, I asked her what it was called and she said, "It's all coming back to me now." So the song started, and I was still waiting for her to say the title...until the chorus came on and it all came together. (Jr. High, I think)
  • How Bizarre - Nyree. When this song came out I loved it. So every time Ny heard it on the radio she would call and tell me so I could hear it. What a friend! (High School)
  • "You've got the most beautiful blue eyes I've ever seen." - Erin. Okay, so I don't remember the title to this song, but that's a line in it and it reminds me of Erin...she liked a boy with blue eyes. (High School)

I'm sure there's so many more. I'll post as I remember. Oh, here's one that my friends will get a kick out of it..take a guess. Shebereber with me baby.

Oh, the good ol' CARE FREE (well mostly) days. Feel free to share in the comments. I love memory lane.

Speed Racing!

One of our really good friends, Marissa, was married 2 weeks ago. Well, the night before the wedding they had an awesome dinner. Then marissa's husband (fiance then) treated us all to speed racing - Thanks, Ishmael! Here's some pictures and video. We all had a blast - just like old times.

She says the darndest things!

By the way...who came up with that phrase? "Darndest? Anyway, my dd really does say the funniest things some times...

1. Her reply after I asked her to stop climbing on the play kitchen while her little brother was playing beneath on the floor, "I'm going to stay here forever." And she folded her arms. I have NO idea where she learned that.

2. Said yesterday morning after she spilled dry cereal on the floor. Daddy was "making" her help pick up the mess and she said between fake sobs, "I can't believe this."

3. When asked, "Why did you do that?" She always replies, "Because I'm not 'spose to do that."

4. Uses the following words correctly in a sentence: instead, actually, awful...

I know there have been others...if any of you remember them, please remind me!

She is just amazing! Here is my bugs...

Happy!

Angry!Surprised!
Silly!
Shy!
Scared!

One of God's most amazing miracles!

So much to do, so little time!

I'm going to try and post a little more. Try being the key word. I used to be pretty good with getting things done and organizing my time. But lately I've been feeling a little stretched. So stretched that I just don't want to do anything!

Other than that we're all healthy and pretty happy, I think. Let's see...what have we done lately...

We went to the state fair and Bugs got to ride a pony. Don't you just love the bandaid on her forehead? (No real need, she bonked and needed a bandaid!)

Bubba (almost 11 months) is already learning how to ride sister's big wheel. (Don't worry...DH was close by - he even sent the poor boy rolling down the drive way - he's got good balance!)

Boys will be Boys!

Let me explain where this beetle came from...DD was in our back yard picking currents from our flower garden. We came inside and all of a sudden DD started screaming, shaking, and running. She had a dress on and what fell out of her dress? Why a big huge ugly bug! Needless to say she and I stayed in the kitchen while Daddy and Bubba checked out the bug. Yuck, but adorable picture, huh!?!?

Pioneer Day BBQ

We had a blast with family at T's cousin's house for a pioneer day celebration! Bugs liked the fireworks, but she insisted on covering her ears! Here are some pictures and video!

What do fireworks sound like?

Ode to Bubba

Well, this meant to be a 6-month thing, but instead it's a 7.5 month thing! :) We just got Bubba's pictures taken. Not that I'm biased or anything, but he could seriously be a little model! What a handsome boy. Here are some shots, along some things about him.

You finally found your toes yesterday - I think your belly was always in the way.

I love how you make yourself laugh. Not just giggle, but force a laugh out. It's so funny.

I love how your face lights up when you see someone you love.

I love those bright blue eyes!

You sit up like a pro and have for about month now.

You love to eat! Not just food, but everything.

If there is something in your arm's reach...you'll grab for it, and it usually get it!

You roll all over the place in your crib, but don't really like to lay down when you're awake - youd rather sit, stand, or jump.

I love how you flap your little arms like a birdie when you want or need someone or something.

I love you!

Night at the Roxbury

I don't know how many of you remember the movie, "Night at the Roxbury." It was big my Sr. Year of High school. Anyway, when I saw this recent Super Bowl commercial, it totally cracked me up. Just wanted to share.

Daddy

Daddy has the magic touch. He was playing guitar for Bubba and he fell fast asleep. Too bad we had to wake him up for a bath and his PJs! So precious.

Sesame Street

On Tuesday we went to Discovery Gateway. We all had a blast.

Driving trucks...Daddy, scared for his life. :)

Buying Groceries

Working at the Farm

The special exhibit is about the body, featuring the characters from Sesame Street. It was so cool. Bugs just loved it! Below Bugs was trying to open the door and was mad they wouldn't open. Poor girl.

We were able to go to Elmo's World!

I thought this would be a cute picture, but again, she was upset that it wasn't a real door.

Bugs and her beloved Elmo!

Okay - so this was our favorite part. This little section showed the kids how the digestive system works. As you can see the final display was, well, poo! Look closely. There's actually a log coming down the pipe. It was disgusting, but hilarious! (As you can see Bugs is more interested in the bolts of the operation.)

In any case, we had a blast and recommend it to you.
It's kind of expensive, but worth it every once in a while.

Tiger's New Trick

Our little man rolled over for the first time on Sunday. Here's a clip of his new trick! Good, job, buddy!

The Left Side

The Bug's current favorite phrase is, "On the left side." Everything is "on the left side." I had just brough up the highchair out of storage and was cleaning it off. Here was our conversation:

Mom: This is the baby's chair.
Bugs: It's kinda like my chair. [She points.] There's my chair, on the left side.
Mom: Yup - you're right.

She makes me laugh.

Tao Bugs

Bug loves to watch bugs, but not touch them. We found this one on her slide. It may look like she is kind to “toa bugs,” but in reality when she finds one she squashes them on the cement and drags her foot so as to smear the remains. Lovey, eh?!?
